Question
Was there a spark that kindled your interest before you ever seriously considered being a Graphic Designer?
Answer
Researched a lot of great schools to see which school and which program fit me best. In the end I went with my first choice which happened to be the Ontario College of Art & Design, now known as OCADU.
I've learned that the days of print are slowly becoming a thing of the past, learn web design and developing, and learn it well!
Getting to do something I love doing everyday, some clients may be a pain, but there's always that one project that makes you happy to be doing what you're doing. I love to be creative and visual communication is really important. I like the feeling that I'm helping my client build their business or whatever they have with the work I create for them.
I was always really fond of drawing and painting in my younger years. I was always making something with my hands. My dad was very artistic too and always encouraged me to be creative. In high school I knew I wanted to pursue an artistic career but I wasn't sure what I wanted to do. I didn't even know what Graphic Design was until about grade 11 when a former student came in to tell us about her career in Graphic Design. I knew from that day, that's what I wanted to do.
