Question
Was there a spark that kindled your interest before you ever seriously considered being an Acupuncturist?
Answer
Being an acupuncturist, for me, is a dream come true. Every day I get to go into work and assist people in releasing pain, stress and anxiety from their bodies. It is hands on, and I never get bored. I also love owning my own business and being in charge of my future.
The most important thing I did was take a HUGE leap of faith. I left a great job with a nice salary to become a student, then later graduate and become a business owner. I had no idea what to expect, but I had to trust that things would work out.
Communication skills are essential - and not just being able to speak to others, but really being able to listen to what is being said (and not being said) by patients.
I've had so many. Having a patient with chronic digestive problems that got relief with acupuncture, or helping a patient conceive a child. These are the moments I live for now.
Your story is so inspiring and speaks to exactly what we do! Thank you so much for sharing it. :)

I previously worked in finance and was doing well, but I was getting really sick from the stress of my position. A friend recommended acupuncture and I went, not knowing what to expect. It was in the treatment room that I had the space to really relax and think about my life. I realized that that I had options, and I had the option of choosing a career that was in line with my passions. I decided to take a class at a local acupuncture college...the rest is history!
