Question
Was there a spark that kindled your interest before you ever seriously considered being an Interior Designer?
Answer
I think the most important thing I did to become an Interior Designer was sitting for my professional license. I think it is important to continue your studies in any field and I have seen so many people come out of design school and never continue their studies and having your professional license makes you stay current with your continuing education studies. Design is a vast field and I have taken my design career in many different direction, from interior design, kitchen and bath design, lighting design, commercial design to being a speaker and writer in the industry. I will continue reaching and learning and teaching it is full circle.
I believe you are born with the ability to see a space as it is and visualize what that space could be. The real talent is making your client visualize it and see their dreams.
The ABSOLUTE most rewarding experience is having my clients at the end of each project truly happy with the environment I helped create for them!
As far back as I can remember I was dreaming about makeovers, be it fashion, interiors, buildings it didn't matter. I remember growing up in Miami riding in the backseat of my parents car and seeing an old beat up building or house and thinking about how to make it SHINE!
